very confused and scared about my future.

i don't know anything anymore. i don't know if i made the right decision to transfer to city college. i don't know if i really want to major in music. i don't know if the feeling of missing photography is one of the need for familiarity and comfort or one of actual passion and love.

i don't want to take forever in school trying to figure out what i want to do in life. i only have a year and a half left of city college (if i stay) to figure out where i want to transfer (if i stick with music) and a few months to figure out what i want to really major in.

i'm so lost right now.

maybe i just need to give it some more time. it's only been a week since the first day as a music major.
but for some reason, i have this feeling that i won't like being one for 4 years.

i'm just so torn.

It's only natural not to know everything right away. People change their majors a lot, while in college, so it's fairly normal.

I've learned when I got older...that nothing is always set in stone, and no matter how many plans we make, things can change. So I'm sure you'll figure out what you want to major in, and what you want to do with the rest of your life.

But you're still young, and have the time, to make some decisions involving your future.

yeah i know it's normal, but idk. i just always had this plan that once i was 21/22, i'd be done with my bachelors, but i guess i have to get out of that mindset and be more focused on what i want to do rather than when i'm going to finish.

thanks samantha. :]

I had the same belief, that I'd have everything planned by 21/22. And next month I'm turning 22 years old, and I still don't have a plan in mind.

But whatever you choose to do, I'm sure you'll make the right decision for yourself. ^__^

girl, trust in your decisions, you thought it was the right one when you made it, infact you must have been sure, so trust in yourself, don't look back, just look ahead, see the positive, see the things you're looking forward to not what might go wrong. Life is too short.
I recently made an important decision too and have my doubting moments but then I think back of how certain i was and i feel content again.

<3 feel better x

very true; i was quite proactive in changing my major in the beginning, so i should trust in my decision.

thanks so much hannah. <3

just remember the college, universities are flexible. what you do in it, may depend on how you navigate yourself through it. i've figured out that it's not the place where i'm going to learn everything from and it's more of a place that i will learn a few things here and there. i've been let down by what post secondary can offer you.. and even right now as i'm applying for universities, i don't even know if i want to be majoring in geography. i don't know what i'm into. i know how you're supposed to be aware of how your schooling will affect your future careers but the thing is, is that you can change. i know friends who did a art degree - they want to go into mental health via concelling etc.. or others who have finished university and are poets and artist. everything that you do overlaps and feeds each other. doing one thing in university won't limit your ability to do the other thing - that's what the institutions want you to believe. i want to do geography and art. but i come to each from different histories. there are so many amazing artists that i know and respect and they didn't go to art school. if you have to, take a year off. figure out what you like to do (maybe not want) because that will help you figure out what you reaaaally are into.

yeah! i was thinking about that as well - that whatever i major in won't really constrict me to being in that exact career. but then i was also thinking about what i really want to be in school for for 4 years and if i will like studying for it, if that makes any sense.

thanks so much for the advice. :]
