awesome photographer, awesome camera (it's the olympus om-2n). i've been wanting an old school 35mm camera, and now i think i know which one i want. i didn't realize that more than half of my favorites of 35mm photos on flickr were made by the olympus. i found an awesome deal on the body and a 50mm f/1.4! yessss. way less expensive than me buying the canon 50mm f/1.4 for my finicky canon rebel 2000. i love the camera because my mom handed it down to me, but i can't deal with it sometimes. sigh.

yeah. obviously this is a photo nerd post, so i'm not expecting many (if any) comments at all, haha.

only three photos, but those were my favorites. the other ones were like, glorified snapshots. nothing too great. not that these are the greatest either....whatever. hah.

on another note: OMGGGG. THE DARK KNIGHT IS OUT NEXT FRIDAY!!!!!!! -fangirl squee-
i really want to see it at imx, but their tickets are crazy expensive. but then again, it's meant to be seen on imax. i mean, christopher nolan used a freakin' imax camera to shoot one of the most chilling/pretty/amazing scene (in my opinion) for the movie! in chicago. the most awesome city in the world.

but i'm broke. so the regular theatre, here i come!

Sears Tower, isn't that what Christian Bale was talking about? How he got to stand on the edge of it and look down?

Very cool pictures, but I admit that last one looks reallllly cold!

oh yeah! he used the imax camera for that scene too. i was thinking about the scene with the joker and he's looking back at the camera standing in the street.

thanks! it was SO cold that day.

i love love how those photos came out. now when it comes to developing...is that what gives those photos their "feel" you could say or is it messing around with the good ol shutter and aperture and things of that nature?

since i went to a lab to get these developed (and they usually don't do anything fancy), it has more to do with the lens of the camera and the film used. i used a film that produces muted colors and great contrast, so it gave it the feel you see. there are other films that make greens and reds really pop, black and white films with super high contrast, etc.

i don't have experience with it, but it's possible to "photoshop" a photo in the darkroom. the possibilities are amazing! :]

I always learn something about cams when I come to your page. I also went on flickr to look at pics taken with that Olympus and it does take nice shots. Those pictures are amazing and you're so good! I love it when you post pics. That picture in the snow is really nice it gives me frost bite from just looking at it! Brr!

Every time I watch Imax movies I get a serious headache. We have the Imax dome here and I can never concentrate on the movie because my head starts to spin. It's weird I know but I've heard tons of people get the motion sickness feeling.

thank you kim! :D

yeah, i know what you mean about the motion sickness thing. i've gotten nauseous a couple of times watching a movie (and i wasn't even watching it on a big screen) where the camera was handheld (and therefore pretty shaky), and i had a headache and everything.
